BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES

Lieutenant of Artillery Alfredo Salvador Agneta was born in Cordova the 12 of October of 1887, young one still was transferred with his family to the city of Rosary. The 15 of May of 1905 she entered to the Military School of the Nation and the 12 of February of 1908 she withdrew with the Second lieutenant degree of Artillery forming part of promotion 32. It was destined to the Regiment Nº 1 of Artillery (Field of May). In 1907 revistaba in that unidad.

The 4 of March of 1912 were gotten up to the initial course of students of pilotage in the Palomar where it received instruction under the direction of professor Marcel Paillette, completing it soon with Engineer Newbery and Mascías, who professed singular to him considers by excellent aptitudes demonstrated for the new race. The 28 of December rendered their examination and obtained the diploma of Flying Pilot Nº 19 becoming the third official of the Argentine Army in receiving this civil title. Their flying fitness did that outside in addition senior officers who flew with the monoplane Rumpler Wasser-Eindecker motor Taube Argus 100 HP. The 13 of January of 1913, under the supervision of the flying pilot Enrique Lübbe, made his first flight of adaptation to the monoplane, popularly known like the Dove. The 25 of May integrated the squadron whom it carried out of the first aerial parade made by the Aviation of Army manning the Taube with Lieutenant Aníbal Brihuega.

The 15 of Agneta June accompanied during long stretch the train in which the minister of Japan Tiki Mioki Shagoy traveled in the direction of Chile, and four days later first exit with the Bleriot of 80 HP carried out his. In August, in the occasion of the presidential visit to Rosary, he was outstanding to that city with the Rumpler Taube. Day 12 taking like passenger to Mr. Carlos Uranga, the monoplane hit against telegraphic lines in the Park Independence of Rosary damaging that they manned. Between 28 and 30 of August, it obtained the South American record of distance when a flight without stages between the Palomar and San Pedro made with Ambrosio mechanic Luis Vicente Taravella, province of Buenos Aires, on board of the powerful Taube covering a distance with 170 km. The 8 of October successfully carried out in the Palomar the test of Nieuport M-IV Eduardo Castex, for the test provisionally accepted the services of the Flying Pilot I move away to Tinao Plans. After this test it initiated his adaptation to the airplane with Zanni.

Lieutenant The 6 of October of 1914 after a nocturnal ascent in Pampero II of received from the authorities of the Aero Argentine Club brevet of Globe Pilot Nº 24; twenty-two days later, it made a routine flight in Nieuport M-IV Argentina, stayed in the long air time and reached the 1500 ms. Shortly after Agneta Lieutenant had to leave with the mechanic Raimundo Trangone, but at the precise moment in that this one she arranged to occupy the seat seeing that the Dr came near Felipe Madariaga, Agneta solved that she accompanied this one to him, invitation that immediately she was accepted and of very good affability. She took off again in single 40 ms of race; she left in line straight and she initiated the ascent, perhaps a little abrupt about 300 ms advanced, and placed in the same route, more flew the lieutenant Garci'a Fernandez, on the Farman biplane. The speed of first allowed to reach very soon to this last one. Like the elevation difference him it prevented to happen to him superficially, Agneta lieutenant inclined a little his machine decreasing the height in few meters. Thus it happened underneath. As soon as it surpassed it, could be observed perfectly that the Nieuport was reared, letting work the motor to resume seconds later its march, at the same time that with more intensity repeated the maneuver describing very abrupt turns. They were approximately 17:30 hours when it airplane found to about 60 ms of height, inclined on the left wing entering in tirabuzón with fatal consequences in spite of his skill the pilot could not dominate it, and describing a semicircle with the tail in stop he hit in a dry, brutal blow against the land. The airplane, completely destroyed, locked up between a true network of tensions, wood and fabrics the bodies of Agneta and Madariaga, thrown the one against the other, underneath contraviento, within fuselage and against motor.

Agneta passed away shortly after the accident in arms of Gervasio Videla Dorna. The medical report of Regiment 1 of Howitzers, Dr Alberto Vivot was laconic and conclusive: Expensive Agneta destroyed both fractured legs (left in 5 parts), collapse of the breastbone with 3 ribs that tore the heart, fractures double of the left arm and base of skull. Madariaga: multiple wounds in the face from sien it to the chin, collapse of the chest, broken ribs, arm and fractured left leg. The rest were guarded in the Palomar and the Hall Reading of the Army Officer's Club and rest in the Cemetery of Rosary. Although it did not get to be Military pilot was recognized like a shining pilot in the School. After its decease, the comrades of Aero Argentine Club m3 constructed in fabric perpetuated their memory baptizing with the name Teniente Agneta to the 1200 ball rubberized by Ernani Mazzoleni that made its first flight the 19 of September of 1915 in charge of the journalist Carlos Federico Borcosque.

The 15 of January of 1927, according to the Decree published in Military Bulletin Nº 7547 the construction of 5 obeliscos was arranged on the routes of the Lacroze Street car, present General railroad Urquiza in Field of May and it remembered place the name of Lieutenant 1º Agneta to located in km 22,910.

The 21 of January of 1970, was declared by Precursory Law of the Argentina Aeronautics (Aeronautical Bulletin Public Nº 2100). The rest of of Agneta Lieutenant rest in Rosario.
