     The name of Robert J. Armor is found on the plaque pictured above among the 119 names of pioneer flyers who trained at the Wright Brothers field at Huffman Prairie. To visit the page which lists all of the flyers, and which displays several photographs of the memorial, just click on:

  Robert J. Armor of Laguna Hills, California died October 3, 1972. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1887
     He made his first solo flight July 5, 1914 at the Wright Brothers field in Dayton, Ohio. In World War I he served overseas with the U.S. Navy.
     He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rhosine Martin Armor, one daughter and two sons. Their new address is 2419 Watts Road, Houston, TX 77025
