Clyde Cessna's Silverwing
This website, which was assembled by John Stewart, offers a fascinating description of Cessna's first airplane:

"Clyde Cessna purchased his Queen monoplane in February 1911, because of its color, he named it "Silverwing". The Silverwing was powered by a four cylinder Elbridge engine."

It includes a beautiful postcard photo of his plane as it flew in Enid, Oklahoma in 1911. You will also find a link to a letter which Will D. Parker wrote to Carl E. DeLong, son of George E. DeLong in 1963 You can access that page by clicking on the title above.
If time permits, I heartily recommend that you visit the homepage of John's website and take advantage of the many other features which he offers.
