Curtiss Flight Commemoration
     Early Birds at Cedar Point, Ohio on the occasion of the Curtiss flight commemoration. The plaque there is in good condition today.
     Shown flanking the Curtiss plaque are Lawrence M. Allison, George Page, Stanley Vaughn, George H. Scragg, L. L. Custer, and Reinhardt Ausmus.

"The Tech is MIT's oldest and largest newspaper. We have provided MIT faculty, staff, and students with continuous news service since 1881. We publish on Tuesdays and Fridays during the regular school year, weekly during the month of January, and monthly during the summer. The Tech is published daily during MIT's Orientation period, which begins the last week of August."

Luzerne Custer will give a talk on the "Various Methods for Testing Prol)ellors," and also some of his own personal and daring experiences in balloon races in his home town in Ohio. Mr. Custer is the inventor of the statoscope, an instrument for recording the rise or fall in a balloon, and his talk will undoubtedly be of great interest to all. "

The Montgomery County Ohio Historical society has an exhibit coinciding the the INVENTING FLIGHT celebration that's being held here in Dayton, Ohio to celebrate the Wright Brothers and the invention of powered flight."

  Luzerne Custer planned to attend the Reunion at Birmingham but had a coronary attack on August 27, seemed to improve for a couple of days, but passed away on Thursday, August 30 at 5:20 P.M. Several Early Birds attended his funeral.
