  Notice has been received that Samuel B. Eckert died June2, 1973. No statement of the circumstances was mentioned. He was born December 24, 1884 at Philadelphia; he first soloed in September 1916 and held F.A.I. certificate number 52 Hydroplane Pilot.
     He enlisted February 1917 and after further flight instruction, joined the American Air Force attached to the British. He flew S.E.5s in the 84th B.E.F. Squadron. later he was returned to the American Air Service in command of the 84th B.E.F. Squadron where he flew Sopwith Camels on the British and American fronts. After retirement he lived in Paoli, Pa.
