Thought you may be interested to learn that Scarborough Model Flying Club and Scarborough Historical Society have "teamed together" to research the pioneering flights of B C Hucks from Muston Sands, Filey beach, 8 miles away from Scarborough.
SMFC have built a replica 88" wingspan balsa and plywood Blackburn Mercury Monoplane with a miniature BC Hucks in the cockpit, and will fly the model by radio control from Muston Sands to Filey this summer. The model will have an onboard video link to enable us to video the flight of the model, which should prove interesting!
away from Scarborough.
Scarborough Historical Society have already researched the local 1910-1915 newspaper for articles and local collectors for postcard images etc. They are progressing with their work with the intention to end with in a lecture on the life and works of B C Hooks in the autumn.
Attached in one of their postcard findings.
Best regards,
Mark

SMFC Secretary.
