ROBERT J. MINSHALL, 2616 Shoreline Drive, Seattle, Wash., who first rode with 'Gene Ely at Portland, later Ely's "grease monkey" (At least that's what Minshall Says). More mechanical work with G. W. Stromer in South Tacoma. He was then so fed up with this he bought Stromer's Benoist tractor in 1914 and did his own flying, for two years around Tacoma. What with hopping passeners, designing and bulding land and water planes, flying with motorcycle and automobile engines he managed to pass the time until 1918 when he joined the engineering department of the Boeing Airplane Company where he is today, as chief engineer.
