I'm curious who this Sam person is also because the two were apparently close. We have part of a
post card that says "to Nick, from Sam" on the back dated nov 18, 1911, as well as in air flight pictures from 1912. Calvin |
via email from Bob Davis, 8-17-05 The first photo was most likely taken at the Nassau Boulevard field in New York state. Note the two names on the hangars: (Leb)lanc and Simon. They were a part of the Moisant team and Mildred was flying there during the cancelled meet of September-October 1911. Checking my 1911 articles, I find there are usually novices who were also there but did not make the news unles they did a spectacular crash or died (see Dr. J. C. Clarke page). |
