As chief pilot of the military flier school, he died much too young due to a crash during a test flight on July 13, 1918. Auf dem Flugplatz Leipzig-Lindenthal erhielt er am 15.07.1912 seine Flugberechtigung als Privatflieger. Im Januar 1915 schloss er einen privatrechtlichen Dienstvertrag als Flugzeugführer mit seinen eigenen Flugzeugen mit dem Deutschen Reiche, vertreten durch die Königl.Preussische Fliegerersatz-Abteilung 4, ab. Am 31.07.1917 engagierte ihn die Luft-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft Berlin-Johannisthal als Fluglehrer und Flugzeugführer für Köslin. Er hat zahlreiche Flugschüler ausgebildet und auch Testflüge geflogen. Viel zu früh ist er am 13.07.1918 als Chefpilot der Militär-Fliegerschule infolge eines Absturzes bei einem Testflug verstorben. Er hinterlies eine Frau und eine Tochter im Alter von 3 Jahren. Seine Ehefrau Martha starb 1991 im Alter von 97 Jahren in Leipzig. Seine Tochter Waltraut, geb. 1915 lebt noch heute, leider an Alzheimer-Demenz leidend, in einem Seniorenheim in Leipzig. Sie hat einen Sohn und eine Tochter, von denen leider keiner die Flugleidenschaft des Großvaters geerbt hat. Sein Bruder Albert Tybelski war auch erfolgreicher Flieger und Angehöriger der Militärflieger im ersten Weltkrieg. Er lebte mit seiner Familie noch nach 1953 in Berlin.
