Waterfront - A Mecca
Our waterfront, unfenced and little groomed, gradually accumulated a cluster of buildings. A tiny boat office and coal house for steamers made way for more pretentious structures which included a dime-a-dance pavilion to which families brought their children. A broad bath house with sundeck and a tall water tobaggan dominated the beach. Occasionally, a barn-storming aqua-plane offered rides.
