  Curtiss L. Day, who was born May 24, 1895, died Tuesday, April 25, 1972
     He flew his first glider in 1911 and soloed in a powered airplane July 22, 1914. In 1916 he became a test pilot at Hempstead Field, Long Island with the Wright Company.
     During World War I he served as an advanced flying instructor with the Army Air Section. His FAI Certificate is No. 302.
     Survivors include his mother and father who are living in Paxton, Illinois.
