Just a little note about Herman Ecker.
from William Scallione

My dad owned a TV store in Syracuse, NY from the 50's to the early 80's called Erie TV.
I believe he moved into a few locations before settling on his main store on the corner of Erie Blvd and State St.
The building he bought was a large old warehouse that used to sit only a few feet from the Erie Canal (now Erie Blvd) many years ago.
We always heard a story of how he had found an old airplane on one of the upper floors and it ended up in the Smithsonian.
I was too young to know anything about airplanes at the time. Just found the info on it at their web site
