     If you search for "Whipple Hall" +aviation, using the Google search engine, (10-5-09), you will find about 251 links, several of them relevant. Most refer to a building named "Whipple Hall." Several do establish the fact that Whipple was not just a promoter, but did fly the Curtiss aeroplanes. Perhaps one of the most helpful is the following.

     This article features the exploits of Bud Mars in the first flight of an aeroplane in Hawaii. Whipple was the agent of the Curtiss Aviation Company and was responsible for making the arrangements for the demonstration.
