REQUEST FOR HELP
via email from Suzanne K. Jones, 11-24-07
I am searching for the photograph "Where two Navy Air Heroes Met Death in Virginia" which was the actual plane crash picture from the Asheville Times. I have a picture which was laminated years ago, and it is now not able to be copied because of the deterioration within the laminate. This was the air crash which occurred April 26, 1927 with Lt. Com. Noel Davis & Lt. Stanton Hall Wooster attempting the first flight across the Atlantic Ocean. Wooster was my mother's half-brother, and she was 10 years old at the time of the crash.
Do you have an idea who can help me? Thanks for your effort . . .

Editor's Note: If you can help Suzanne in her search, please send a message to my email address. I will forward your response to her immediately. Thank you.

Stanton Hall Wooster
This page on the Arlington National Cemetery website offers a very detailed account of the two aviators who were lost during the preparation for their attempt to fly to Paris. It is reported that while Davis was the senior member of the team, it was actually Lt. Wooster who planned to be the principle pilot during the flight. You can access the page by clicking on the title above.

Yellow Giant
