Juan Carmona Hangar
via email from Roy Nagl, 2-27-06
Dear Ralph:
I have attached a vintage photo showing a hangar belonging to Mexican aviator Juan Carmona, which I thought you might like to see. I believe the hangar is located in Aguila, in Mexico, as that name is also on the hangar, above Juan Carmona's name.
Best wishes,
Roy

Juan Carmona ? and Friend
via email from Roy Nagl, 2-27-06
Dear Ralph:
I do not know if he is one of the two people that are shown in front of the biplane. I have read on the Flight of Excelsior website that he was an aviation school classmate of Emilio Carranza, who you have a web page about. I bought the photo on eBay on the chance that it might show Carmona, besides his airplane. Perhaps, someone can identify the people in this enlargement.
Best wishes,
Roy
Editor's Note: I am struck with the similarity between the figure on the right in the photo above with with others in which Emilio Carranza is identified. I am not prepared to make a positive identification at this time, but the available evidence is persuasive.

Flight of Excelsior
This extensive website is primarily devoted to Emilio Carranza and is the definitive resource on his life and career. It is one of the few sites which I have been able to find so far which even mentions the name of Juan Carmona, the aviator. You will find his name listed among the other students of the School of Aviation in the extracted paragraph below.

"Colonel Gustavo Baz and Francisco A. Cuenca were the director and deputy director, respectively, of the School of Aviation when Emilio enrolled. Among his classmates were many who would later become prominent in the history of Mexican aviation: Luis Boyer, Antonio Cárdenas Rodríguez, Alfonso Corona del Rosal, Antonio Nava Castillo, Melchor Sánchez Cárdenas, Enrique Kanter, David Chagoya, Arturo Jiménez Nieto, Rodolfo Torres Rico, Rafael J. Suárez, José Betancourt, Othon Hernandez Amaral, Juan Carmona, Bernardo H. Hermosillo, Ignacio Valle, Eduardo F. Serrano, Gonzalo Acosta, Antonio Lojero, Raúl Mateos Aguilera, Oscar Aarana Sanz, Martín R. Taguma, Fructuoso Perez, Feliciano Flores, and many others."
