MAURICE L. FOULQUIER -1913

 

Daily Journal and Tribune, Knoxville, Tennessee: June 27, 1913,, Transcribed by Bob Davis - 7-12-04 "French Aviator Killed, Chalons, sur Marne, France, June. 26       The French aviator, Maurice L. Foulquier, while testing a monoplane for the first time, fell from a height of 250 feet this evening and was killed. Foulquier had been accustomd to a biplane and the accident is attributed to the fact that he failed to realize that a monoplane requires different methods in handling."

 

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES via email from Dave Lam, 8-14-04       My records show him as having crashed and died at Chalons sur/Marne, France on the 23rd of June 1913. Obviously an error somewhere, but I am not sure where.       He earned French pilot's license # 772 in a Farman, probably in February or March 1912 (Records don't show a date for him).
